So who are you then?
I am just a normal bloke who likes writing stories that make you think, as well as writing about a few other varied interests, such as running, motivation and maybe some deep and meaningful stuff as well.
For a living, I work as a freelance copywriter and content creator for private clients worldwide. I also do some virtual assistance or research as well.
What have you written so far?
I self-published my first non-fiction ebook, Quit Smoking Forever in 2012. My first novella, The Right Side of Time was self-published in 2016 and features Kalila Grey, an agent of the Agency of Adjustments, a UK government organisation that uses time travel for certain means.
What are you working on at the minute?
After some very positive feedback and reviews on The Right Side of Time I am rewriting this novella as a full length novel. The sequel has also been planned – so watch out for that!
I have a very interesting character planned out for a stand-alone story of revenge and other pertinent issues of the day – but no clues, sorry! As well as that I have a number of short stories that are either written or planned out (in my head – so does that count?) which I would like to release for Christmas. So enough to stop me getting bored…
Define yourself as a writer
A self-published author, meaning that I write my own work, and am responsible for my own covers, proofreading and editing (which I outsource to professionals). This means that I am also responsible for marketing and selling my work myself. I use Amazon, Apple, Kobo and Smashwords for this.
As an indie author, I write what I want, when I want and for who I want. I like to explore the seedy, gritty side of human nature, but also the inspirational side as well. I also like to write about the unexplained or unexpected, but am allowed to write about anything I like! I don’t need to fit into a predetermined box.
As a storyteller, I am interested in the human condition, motives and how people handle the dilemmas they find themselves in. I like to include realistic, yet unusual situations or characters in my stories.
And for non-fiction?
I am interested in anything inspirational, hence my first ebook on quitting smoking – something that took me a long time to accomplish totally. I spent a few years in HM Forces, do a bit of ultra running and love entrepreneurship – so expect to see some related books soon enough!
What about the running you mentioned earlier?
I’m a wannabe ultra runner – strictly back-of-the-pack! The longest race I have completed was a 62 odd miler in 17 hours, so as you can see I like to get my money’s worth. I’m on a bit of a break at the minute, but I have a few goals in sight that I wish to achieve before I get too knackered and lazy!
